Included in the price of the villa is a 5-person rowing boat and hook & line fishing rods. A 2-kilometre lighted jogging and skiing track is located 100 metres away. The following equipment is also available for rent: an electric outboard motor, spinning fishing rods with reels, an ice drill, bicycles, snowshoes and karaoke equipment. Repovesi National Park is half-an-hour’s drive away and can be explored by hiking, canoeing, rowing in traditional wooden church boats, renting a boat taxi, mountain biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and kick-sledding, as well as by horse and sleigh and with a husky safari. Visitors can also try rock climbing and abseiling.
Fishing in rapids is possible at Miekankoski, Pyhäkoski, Voikoski, Kaivannonkoski, Tainionvirta and Fishing Paradise in Heinola (all within a 15-minute to 1-hour driving radius).
Dancing can be enjoyed on Saturday evenings all year round and in summertime also on Thursday and Friday evenings at Mäntymotelli (15 minutes away).
Koirakiven Kesäteatteri is a popular summer theatre located 15 minutes away.
Golf can be played within an hour’s drive in Hartola, Mikkeli (Annila Golf, Mikkeli Golf), Kangasniemi (Puula Golf) and Lahti (Messilä).
Downhill skiing and snowboarding is possible in Hartola (Purnu), Mikkeli (Tornimäki) and Lahti (Messilä).
Services can be found in Mäntyharju just a few kilometres away, and there is a café and service station less than 10 kilometres away in Vihantasalmi. The Kuortti ABC Service Station Store has 24-hour services and can be reached in around 20 minutes by car. Kuortti also has other shopping and restaurant services, as well as specialty shops. There are plenty of other shopping opportunities in the vicinity, such as in Pertunmaa, Mäntyharju, Mikkeli, Heinola and Lahti. Factory outlets, specialty shops and handicraft boutiques are well worth a visit.
Salmela Art Centre in Mäntyharju presents major art exhibitions and music events in summertime.
Mikkeli hosts a wide range of cultural events throughout the year. The Amateur Theatre Festival is held on the last weekend of January. Savcor Ballet presents the world of classical dance in April and September. The Mikkeli Music Festival takes place in the beginning of July under the artistic direction of world-famous conductor Valeri Gergijev. Later in July the St. Michel Trotting Races challenge top jockeys from around the world to set new records.
