The town of Virrat offers natural peace and experiences. At Riihilahti cottage, you can row a boat for fishing or explore the 1-kilometer-long forest trail that starts near the cottage.

The town's most famous attraction, the Toriseva gorge lakes, is located 10 kilometers from Riihilahti cottage. The nature trail around Toriseva offers impressive landscapes right next to Route 66.

You can head out on your own to hike, swim, play golf, kayak, or take a cruise on the steamship Tarjante in the summer months. The waterfront restaurant Baarpuuri is located at the ship's dock. It is 14 kilometers from the cottage.

Nice cultural destinations include the Killinkoski Old Factory Museums 30 kilometers away and the Virrat Heritage Village 15 kilometers away. Summer events include the Midsummer Market and the KesäVirratSoi Festival.
