Purnus Jokilaakso is just 45 minutes by car from the centre of Helsinki, in beautiful countryside close to Siuntio church village. Our cottages offer marvellous views of the Siuntio River valley – one visitor calls it a “miniature paradise”. At the bottom of the valley, there’s a jetty and a small sandy beach which make swimming in the river an exceptional pleasure.

If you’re looking for a holiday packed with activity or just the peace and quiet of the countryside, we offer both! Jokilaakso’s natural surroundings provide a marvellous location for guided outdoor activities, and our professional staff have years of local experience. Our offering includes easy guided canoeing trips down the Siuntio River - we supply everything you need in the way of equipment and advice - fishing trips and plenty more.

For people who prefer to make their own discoveries, the Jokilaakso forest, river valley and rocky outcrops offer unique opportunities for jogging, mushroom and berry hunting, cross-country skiing, snowshoe trekking, sledging or trip skating. Walking along the path by the river is like diving into the wilderness – you could even meet an otter… The distant roar of the rapids and the concert of birdsong from Jokilaakso’s many winged residents drive away those everyday concerns.

Overlooking a bend in the Siuntio River, Saukko (Otter) and Simpukka (Mussel), our two fully-equipped weekend cottages, resemble peas taken from the same pod.
